distributes tomatoes to both national and
international customers. With facilities in
Norwalk California, LJ Distributors, Inc.
has the capability of servicing customers of
all sizes.
Background
LJ Distributors was established in 1988
by Lute Miyazaki. Prior to establishing LJ
Distributors at the age of 28, Lute spent 12
years in the produce business where he
worked his way up from selling odd lots of
tomatoes off the dock of the Los Angeles
Wholesale Market to the top position of
president of Cal-Fruit, which at that time
was one of the largest produce companies in
the Nation.
Along the way Lute had the benefit of
working alongside his father, Luther
Miyazaki, who has worked in the produce
industry for over 55 years. Bolstered by a
few loyal customers Lute carved out a niche
market dedicated almost exclusively to
foodservice clientele. Since then LJ
Distributors has grown to be among the
largest tomato repacking companies in
Southern California.
LJ Distributors has the ability and knows
how to assist our customers in developing
specifications and custom tomato packs that
provide the perfect mix of value and
quality.
